This university town is located 30 miles north of downtown Austin and borders to the north of Round Rock along the I-35 corridor. While Georgetown is quickly catching up in population with Cedar Park and Round Rock, the city’s population of over 70,000 is spread over an area twice as large. Georgetown is home to Southwestern University and is the seat of government for Williamson County. Georgetown has the benefit of being close to the growing, dynamic technology industry while maintaining a friendly rural atmosphere with lots of outdoor recreational opportunities. This is also the home of Sun City, one of the country’s largest retirement communities for adults over 55.
