With an official population around 4,000 in 2020 – many more residents live nearby outside the city limits. It is one of the smaller and more rural cities in Williamson County. Liberty Hill is the most affordable and rural area within the “183 Corridor” that has become a bustling high-tech employer hub.

Liberty Hill Texas was founded in the 1840’s. It soon became a stop for the military stage coach line. Many of these historical buildings are preserved at Fort Tumbleweed. One of the biggest attractions to Liberty Hill is a sculpture garden containing some of the best work from Mel Fowler and international sculptors.

Liberty Hill provides a unique location between famous outdoor attractions and the entertainment provided in nearby Cedar Park. Inks Lake, Longhorn Cavern, Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge and many Central Texas swimming, fishing, and hunting opportunities are within short driving distance.

Liberty Hill has had one of the lowest crime rates for cities of its size in the state, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s annual Crime in Texas Report.

In 2021, Liberty Hill‘s cost of living was 9.2% below the national average according to Salary.com. In June 2021, Liberty Hill’s unemployment rate was under the national rate at 4.7%.”
