Central Baptist Church

Central represents a “marriage” of two Round Rock churches, Lake Creek Baptist Church and Northeast Baptist Church. Lake Creek Baptist Church resided at 301 North Lake Creek Blvd since 1975. Northeast Baptist began in 1990 as a mission outreach of FBC-Round Rock and held services in several different Round Rock locations for almost three years.

The blending of both churches began early in 1993 when the minister of music at Lake Creek approached Pastor Mark Westerfield from Northeast about merging both churches. Lake Creek had a small congregation with no senior pastor and Northeast had congregation of about 150 with no permanent building. After much prayer Pastor Mark became the pastor of Lake Creek Baptist and Northeast Baptist. He held services at both churches allowing for a time of engagement between the church families. The dissolution of both churches and the birth of Central Baptist Church occurred in the fall of 1993 with services held in the Round Rock High School cafeteria across the street from the church campus.

Our new church continued growing over the next few months to 300 requiring us to move back to the church chapel with two worship services held each Sunday. A youth and worship pastor were added to the church staff over the next two years. As the Central family grew to 600 and our ministries expanded, we needed to build a 10,000 sq/ft gymatorium for our church’s worship services. Portables were also purchased to meet Central’s education needs resulting in a total of 52,000 sq/ft of campus space for ministry. An administrative and children’s pastor were added later to support these growing congregational needs.

As of 2006 we have grown to almost 1,000 in worship. Central ministries now encompass the support of 13 domestic and 25 international missionaries, provision of Christian education for our adults, youth, and children, and ministry to our men, women and families. Our school, Round Rock Christian Academy, provides an excellent Christ centered education to 400 students from grades K-12.

In 2007, a dream to construct space to accommodate the ever growing children’s ministry became a reality. The three story education building provided space to conduct ongoing children’s ministry and extra class rooms to minister to our Bible Fellowship needs, bringing our total square footage to 88,000 feet. This tool of ministry has allowed us to expand our ministry into the ever growing Round Rock community.

Baha’i Faith of Round Rock

Throughout history, God has revealed Himself to humanity through a series of divine Messengers, whose teachings guide and educate us and provide the basis for the advancement of human society. These Messengers have included Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. Their religions come from the same Source and are in essence successive chapters of one religion from God.

Bahá’u’lláh, the latest of these Messengers, brought new spiritual and social teachings for our time. His essential message is of unity. He taught the oneness of God, the oneness of the human family, and the oneness of religion.

Bahá’u’lláh said, “The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens,” and that, as foretold in all the sacred scriptures of the past, now is the time for humanity to live in unity.

Founded more than a century and a half ago, the Bahá’í Faith has spread around the globe. Members of the Bahá’í Faith live in more than 100,000 localities and come from nearly every nation, ethnic group, culture, profession, and social or economic background.

St. Williams Catholic Church

St. William Catholic Church is located in Round Rock, Texas near the Brushy Creek that was part of the Chisholm Trail. To protect pioneers from Indian raids, some forts were established along Brushy Creek as early as 1635. The first community to be established in the area soon became known as Brushy. When the area attempted to get a post office, the US Postmaster General would not approve the name because it had already been assigned to another village in East Texas. In 1854 the local postmaster selected the name of Round Rock because of the well-known stone which marked a safe crossing over Brushy Creek.
