Robert Butler: Welcome to Round Rock Homes for Sale This Week with Robert Butler.
[Music]
Robert Butler: Hi, we’re here with Kate Hamlin from Compass Realty Texas. Kate, tell us about this really unique property.
Kate Hmalin: So this is a pretty amazing property where no stone has been left unturned. This had an expensive renovation as well as an addition put on that was completed a couple of years ago. And, luxury everything. Tech galore: amazing automated blinds,  automated pool system. We have an amazing multigenerational home. So on the first
floor there is a separate entrance for a guest suite that has its own washer and dryer.
Robert Butler: Nice.
Kate Hamlin: Its own bathroom and so people can kind of come and go and have
their own autonomy while enjoying living with the rest of the family.  So enormous
kitchen, a chef’s dream.  I would…
Robert Butler: In case you don’t know guys, we’re actually standing in front of the massive
refrigerator so this is pretty amazing.
Kate Hamlin:  Yeah, so we have custom everything. This is an example of that, so custom glass covers. We have Wolf appliances. Tt is just that…
Robert Butler: And I noticed that when I went upstairs I saw that the primary bedroom had its own 10 person sauna. It has a balcony. It has like a meditation room.  It has a little bar up
there, a refrigerator, everything you could want in a master suite.
Kate Hamlin: Absolutely, and more. Like take what you think would be awesome and then multiply that times two and that’s what we have. So we have an enormous owner’s suite upstairs, tons of privacy but it does back off of a sun room that is onto a deck overlooking the pool pool and hot tub with waterfalls. There’s stairs that lead to the outdoor
kitchen. It’s got a custom pizza oven. It has an enormous custom luxury grill. This is literally a chef’s dream kitchen. There’s prep sinks. There is nugget ice machines. There are copper fixtures. Everything is just absolutely stunning. There, everything was thought of.
Robert Butler: Something for everything so congratulations on this listing.
Kate Hamlin: Thank you so much.
Robert Butler: Thanks for being on the tour.

Amadeus in Central Texas

Round Rock‘s own Penfold Theatre Company brings Amadeus to Central Texas. With shows from March 24 – April 9, 2022 at  the Ground Floor Theatre, the April 3rd show promises to be a special treat with accompaniment by 40 members of the Central Texas Philharmonic.

It’s the story of Antonio Salieri, the religiously devoted court composer of the Austrian Emperor, still waits for the heavenly gift he most desires: true musical brilliance. Then Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a crass and rowdy young prodigy, arrives in Vienna determined to make a splash. Awestruck by his genius and seized by obsessive jealousy, Salieri begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God.

This Tony Award-winning play features musical interludes with Mozart’s beloved compositions. Penfold’s production will thrill audiences with two distinct approaches. For one performance only, the music will be performed live by 40 members of the Central Texas Philharmonic. In the remaining performances, audiences will be treated to a “Mozart remix” by a local composer.

“A total iridescent triumph of complexity of thought, emotion and dramatic power.” – New York Post

It’s a Miracle in Round Rock

Round Rock’s Penfold Theatre brings back a holiday tradition December 9th – 19th. Penfold co-founder Nathan Jerkins re-tells the Christmas classic as a 1940’s style radio broadcast.

The fictional KPNF radio station presents Miracle on 34th Street. As they bring to life the entire story through dozens of character voices and live foley sound effects, you’ll be re-introduced to Kris Kringle, the charming Macy’s mascot put on trial for claiming to be the real Santa Claus. Besieged by commercialism and disillusionment, winning the trial and restoring his friends’ faith in the most precious, intangible parts of Christmas will require Kris to perform nothing short of a miracle!

“Penfold’s classic radiocast of Miracle on 34th Street cannot fail to plunge you into the Christmas spirit!” -Austin American Statesman

It’s no secret that the Discover CTX Team is a big fan of the Penfold Theatre. Don’t miss this Round Rock tradition! Tickets are available here.

It’s a Wonderful Tradition in Round Rock

Back by popular demand, the Penfold Theatre Company brings “It’s a Wonderful Life Classic Radiocast” to Old Settler’s Hall in Round Rock Texas. It has become a Christmas tradition to see Penfold bring these and other famous seasonal stories to life.

The show draws the audience back to the times before television as members of the KPNF radio station are assembling for a live radio performance of It’s a Wonderful Life. Through dozens of characterizations and live foley sound effects, five talented actors tell the entire story, putting an imaginative twist on a cherished holiday tradition. Guests of all ages will fall in love with George Bailey and his timeless tale of despair, redemption, and hope all over again.

The play is adapted and directed by long-time Penfold star Nathan Jerkins. It runs on the weekends Nov 29 – Dec 22, 2019 with a very special showing for the final performance at The Driskill Hotel Ballroom in downtown Austin. Click here to see more information and purchase tickets.

Taquerias Arandinas – Authentic Mexican Food

If you’re craving authentic Mexican food in Round Rock at a reasonable price, look no further than Taquerias Arandinas.  This is a local, family-owned restaurant located in the shopping plaza at 1205 Round Rock Ave. There are also four more locations in Austin.

While I usually order the mixed fajitas with beef, chicken, and shrimp, they have a complete menu full of goodness. The extra large quesadillas are so big that they make a meal by themselves. You’ll find all the traditional Mexican favorites like tacos, tortas, gorditas, and delicious soups. They also have a great breakfast menu with chilquiles, migas, and breakfast tacos.

The food is delicious while the flavor and atmosphere is authentically Mexican.

Round Rock Ranked #2 Best Place to Live (Again)

Round Rock, Texas ranks No. 2 on the recently released Money list of Best Places to Live. Round Rock has made the list for several consecutive years.

“In Round Rock, Texas, the median household income is $82,229, over 60% of people own their homes, and jobs are abundant,” according to Money‘s analysis. “Over the past decade, the county has seen a 41% increase in job growth — and is still expanding. The area’s unemployment rate is 3.1%, and Round Rock is a hub for both large and small companies.”

Round Rock was not only recognized for its strong economy and excellent public school system, but the article also emphasized quality of life amenities like Old Settlers Park and the Dell Diamond.

“Being recognized on this prestigious list really confirms what we’ve known for years about the place we call home – this place rocks!” Mayor Craig Morgan said. “The City has worked hard on long-range planning, public safety and quality of life initiatives, all of which played a major role in achieving such a lofty ranking. I’m especially glad to see the well-deserved accolades for Round Rock ISD and our business community, led by the Round Rock Chamber. It’s truly a team effort to create such a dynamic community.”

Money’s rankings derived from more than 80 separate types of data, in the following categories:

Economy — included local unemployment rate, job growth, and the level of employment opportunities available, among other factors.
Cost of living — included tax burden, insurance costs, commuting costs, medical spending, and income adjusted for cost of living.
Diversity — included racial makeup, racial integration, and economic diversity within a place’s population.

Health and Safety — included number of hospitals and clinics, the number of mental health providers, dentists, doctors and primary care physicians, property and violent crime risk and homicide and drug overdose rates.
Amenities — based on the number of leisure activities in the town and surrounding area, including bars, restaurants, museums, sports complexes, and green spaces.
Ease of living — based on commute times, weather, and other factors.
